08/31/26
Officer received a call from a subject, needing Police assistance with lost property. After a brief discussion, the officer realized that the caller was attempting to call the Madrid Spain Police Department. Officer gave the subject the phone number that was located online.
Officer made contact with the driver of a broken-down semi, on Highway 17 at the Cedars. The semi brake booster went out and locked up the system. The driver had service coming to her already.
Officer was dispatched to an emergency medical call in the 600 block of East 1st Street. Officer stayed with the patient until Boone County Ambulance arrived and treated him.
Officer was contacted by HHS about a family assault that occurred between a juvenile and parents this morning. Staff forwarded all the information to the police department so that an investigation could be initiated.
Officer met with a resident in the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue, to discuss options for ongoing juvenile behavior problems. While there, the youngest child hit her head and Madrid EMS responded to the scene to ensure that she was okay.
Officer followed up with a case report in the 200 block of East 6th Street.
Officer responded to The Cedars to assist medics on a fall.

Officer met with a Madrid resident and gave her a copy of a past report, to satisfy a request that she had for part of her divorce.
Officer was dispatched to call a subject with a fraud call. Officer made contact with the caller and she described a civil issue dealing with a non-payment of a bill. Officer informed her that she needed to contact an attorney and start civil proceedings to have the debt collected.
Officer followed up with a security officer for Ankeny Schools and received contact information for a past student. Officer will attempt to contact the subject and if contact can not be made, the officer will just issue a warrant for the arrest of the subject.
Officer followed up on an investigation regarding a case spanning the last several days.

Officer followed up on a junk vehicle ordinance violation that was served last week. The owner had removed the vehicle in question and moved the other after getting it in working order.
Officer received a phone call regarding a male sitting next to a cable box in someone’s yard, caller was concerned with the male’s health, Officers checked on the male and provided him options.
Officer received a call on the city cell phone from a Madrid resident who had just suffered from a seizure, He advised he was on the trail head next to the Flat Tire. Officer went to his location and spoke with him and requested medical to the site. The caller went with Boone County Ambulance to Boone to be checked out.
Officer received a phone call from a social worker, giving the Officer information on a Madrid resident they had met with, Officer is familiar with the subject made notes to pass on to other officers.

Officer assisted vendors and staff with directions and information on set-up for the annual Labor Day Celebration.
Officer received a complaint of a property in the 500 block of South State that constantly blows grass into the city street when they mow. Officer will make contact with the subjects and give them a warning for this violation. REMINDER: Grass cannot be blown onto the street or sidewalk. All grass that does end up on these areas, must be removed immediately.
Officer assisted Madrid Fire Rescue and Boone County Ambulance, on an emergency medical call in the 600 block of Maverick Lane. The resident had fallen asleep while smoking and on a nasal oxygen tank and had ignited a flame, which burnt her face area. The patient was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Officer received a report of a reckless driver southbound on Highway 17. Officer was able to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver had no history of bad driving and was given a warning regarding her actions.
Officer received a report of a hit n run in the 600 block of E 6th St. The victim had their driver’s side tail light casing broken. The victim would just like his taillight replaced. If you got home and realized you are missing your passenger side mirror, you can turn yourself into the police department where you will be expected to make things right. If there is an investigation such as looking through the victims Ring doorbell, using the sworn statement of an eyewitness about the type of vehicle and looks of the driver, then the suspect will be cited with Leaving the Scene, hitting a parked vehicle, and any other offenses that pertain to this incident.
Officer assisted the Boone County Sheriff with the service of a No Contact Order.
Officer received a phone call requesting assistance serving papers to a subject in the City of Madrid.

Officer received a call from the Madrid Home requesting a welfare check on a resident and her pets at the North Locust Street apartments. Officer spoke with the resident and found her and the two dogs OK.
Officer assisted with a medical call at the Madrid Home. Patient was transported by Boone County Hospital ambulance.
Officer got a vehicle moved from the blocked off area of downtown.
Officer returned two firearms that the department was holding in safe keeping at the owner’s request.
Officer responded to the 400 block of Fairview Lane, on a public assist with a vehicle unlock.
09/05/26
Officer unlocked a vehicle on Gerald Street.
Officer returned a call to a subject reference a welfare check that was done yesterday.
Officer was dispatched to a vehicle all over the road. Officer located the vehicle at Edgewood Park and spoke to the driver. Officer checked her for medical issues and found her blood sugar to be high. Subject met a family member and left after getting a normal reading.
Officer performed a traffic stop at Highway 17 at the bike trail. The driver was warned for stopping on the traffic portion of the roadway.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident in reference to a child custody issue. Officer recommended that he speak to his attorney for a legal opinion.
Officer responded to a medical call at the E-Free Church. Patient was looked over by medics.
Officer assisted on several traffic stops in the city of Madrid.
09/06/26
Officer received a report of a subject attempting to steal a part on a car at the car show. The owner caught the subject who apologized and gave the oil cap back. Subject had loaded up his vehicle and left before the officer arrived.
Officer spoke to a subject who stated that he had a set of keys taken out of his show car while awards were being handed out. Officer will look at video footage and see if the act was caught on camera.
Officers were dispatched to an accident at 1st and Highway 17. A vehicle rear ended another vehicle at the stop light causing minor damage. Officer did an exchange of information for both drivers.
Officer received two lost/found debit cards found during the Labor Day Celebration. Officers will attempt to locate the owners to get them returned.
Officer spoke to a subject at a local establishment, that would not leave after being asked to do so. The subject immediately left when asked by law enforcement.
