The Ogden football team opened Class 1A district play on the road Friday, September 18, falling to West Marshall 28-7 at State Center.
Ogden’s offense was led by quarterback Carson Lloyd, who completed 16 of 31 passes for 161 yards.
Lloyd also contributed on the ground, carrying 12 times for 42 yards.
Jackson Klith scored Ogden’s lone touchdown and led the Bulldogs’ rushing attack.
Klith carried nine times for 75 yards and one touchdown.
He also caught two passes for 41 yards, giving him 116 yards from scrimmage.
Tyler Lass was Lloyd’s top receiver, catching seven passes for 77 yards.
Brayden Miller hauled in three passes for 31 yards, while Weston Sundell finished with three receptions for 14 yards.
Defensively, Dillon Moe led the Bulldogs with 14 tackles, including one tackle for loss and a sack.
Ryder Ecklund added 11.5 tackles and a half tackle for loss, while Kobe Current recorded 10 tackles, nine tackles for loss and two sacks.
Current also recovered a fumble.
Nate Swisher and Landon Alexander each finished with six tackles.
Swisher recorded a half tackle for loss, while Alexander had one tackle for loss.
Ogden also forced a turnover through Ryder Hamil, who intercepted a West Marshall pass and returned it 16 yards.
On special teams, Zachary Crosman had a 12-yard kickoff return, while Sundell recorded a 10-yard punt return.
The Bulldogs will look to bounce back when they continue district play Friday, September 25, traveling to face West Central Valley.
West Central Valley enters the matchup at 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the district, while Ogden is 1-3 overall and 0-1 in district play.
