
The Boone boys’ cross country team placed fifth in a 13-team field and finished with 183 points at the Eagle Grove Invite Tuesday, October 6.
Garner-Hayfield-Ventura won the team title with 51 points.
North Iowa finished second with 76, Algona was third with 78 and Webster City placed fourth with 123.
Boone followed in fifth with 183 points, eight points ahead of sixth-place Estherville Lincoln Central.
Austin Felder led the Toreadors, placing 25th overall with a time of 19:46.10.
Jonathan Myers was Boone’s second runner across the finish line, taking 33rd in 20:08.07.
Kam Lehman followed closely, placing 35th in 20:13.77.
Ace Wolfgram finished 41st with a time of 20:43.49, giving Boone four runners across the finish line within 58 seconds of each other.
Samuel Chesnut completed Boone’s team scoring by placing 55th in 21:22.48.
Caleb Bartlett was right behind Chesnut, taking 56th in 21:24.91, while Calvin Cook finished 58th in 21:29.04.
Pearson Lampe placed 62nd with a time of 21:46.14.
Boone also had Jackson Metcalf finish 102nd in 24:41.64, Payce Crandall take 105th in 24:50.62 and Lincoln George finish 108th in 25:09.56.
The Toreadors finished ahead of Estherville Lincoln Central, Central Springs, Humboldt, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Eagle Grove, West Fork Sheffield, Bishop Garrigan and South Hardin in the team standings.

Boone’s boys’ and girls’ cross country teams will next compete at the Raccoon River Conference meet Tuesday, Oct. 13, at North Polk High School in Alleman.
