DYERSVILLE, Iowa — The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) announced a three-year agreement with Dyersville Events to host the Region 11 Division II Baseball Tournament at the Field of Dreams Ballpark from 2027 through 2029.
Located at the Field of Dreams Movie Site in Dyersville, Iowa, the ballpark will give ICCAC student-athletes and coaches the opportunity to compete for a regional championship at one of baseball’s most recognizable destinations.
The ICCAC first explored bringing the tournament to the Field of Dreams in 2021, when the facility was not accepting outside events. With the conference seeking a new tournament venue following the 2026 season, the ICCAC renewed those conversations this season, leading to the three-year agreement.
“What an unbelievable opportunity for our student-athletes and coaches to compete for a conference championship at a world-class, ready-made for Major League Baseball complex,” ICCAC Commissioner Thom McDonald said.
“The Field of Dreams is as iconic a place as there is in baseball. We are grateful to Tyler Daugherty, the City of Dyersville, Dyersville Events, and the Field of Dreams for working with us to make this opportunity possible for our student-athletes and coaches.”
“We’re honored to welcome the ICCAC Region 11 Baseball Tournament to the Field of Dreams Ballpark and give these student-athletes the opportunity to compete for a championship in such an iconic setting,” said Tyler Daugherty, General Manager of Field of Dreams Ballpark.
“We’re excited to partner with the ICCAC and create an experience that celebrates the players, coaches and communities that make college baseball so special.”
The 2027 tournament will feature six teams competing in a double-elimination format beginning Thursday, May 13, with championship play scheduled for Sunday, May 16.
The 2027 Region 11 champion will advance to a best-of-three district championship series against the Region 13 champion, with the winner earning a berth in the NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series in Enid, Okla.
Beginning in 2028, the ICCAC will adopt a postseason format in which the top eight teams compete in best-of-three first-round series. The four series winners will advance to the four-team, double-elimination Region 11 tournament at the Field of Dreams Ballpark. Tentative tournament dates are May 6–8, 2028, and May 5–7, 2029.
The change coincides with the NJCAA’s introduction of a new Super Regional postseason structure in 2028. Under that structure, regions will determine their champions before eight, four-team Super Regionals are held, with each Super Regional winner advancing to the NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series.
While the agreement covers three seasons, the ICCAC hopes it marks the beginning of a lasting tournament home.
“We hope it can be there forever,” McDonald said.
Ticket pricing, streaming information and additional event details will be announced at a later date on ICCAC.org.
