BOONE, Iowa—An accident Sunday night has hospitalized a rural Boone woman. Boone County Sheriff Andy Godzicki today released preliminary information on the accident:
Godzicki reports that On Sunday, May 31, 2026, at approximately 5:49 p.m., the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 1200 block of County Road E26.
A moped operated by Jane Madden of rural Boone County lost control while negotiating a curve, resulting in a crash and bodily injury to the driver. No damage was observed to the moped, and no other property damage was reported.
Madden was transported from the scene by ambulance for treatment of injuries. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.
Agencies assisting at the scene included the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Boone Fire Department, and Boone County Ambulance Service.
