The Boone baseball team had a split in its Raccoon River Conference doubleheader at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn on Thursday, June 18, dropping a tightly contested opener 3–2 before scoring a 13–1, five-inning victory in the nightcap.

Game 1: ADM 3, Boone 2

The Toreadors came up short in the opener.

Tyce Carlson led the way with a pair of hits and an RBI, while Landon Youngblood added a hit and drove in a run.

Noah Davies contributed a hit and scored twice, accounting for both Boone runs.

Levi Behn, Noah Gorman, Ryan Bowers, and Hendrix Moorman each chipped in one hit.

Conor Scoggins taking the loss in relief despite recording four strikeouts.

Game 2: Boone 13, ADM 1 (5 innings)

In the second game, Boone broke things open with a five-run first inning and never looked back.

The Toreadors’ offense stayed hot throughout, scoring runs in every inning — one in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth, and two more in the fifth — to secure the victory.

ADM’s lone run came in the bottom of the first inning.

Behn went 2-for-3 with a home run, scoring once and driving in two runs.

Bowers reached base twice, scoring two runs and adding an RBI.

Cole Christeson finished with two hits, including a double, two runs scored, and a team-high five RBIs.

Davies added a hit, a run, and two RBIs, while Carlson scored twice and collected a hit.

Gorman contributed a hit and crossed the plate twice, and Youngblood added a run scored.

Behn also picked up the win, helping limit ADM to just one run.

With the split, Boone moves to 8-7 overall and 4-5 in conference play, while ADM stands at 8-13 overall and 3-7 in the league.

The Toreadors travel to face Webster City (15-2) in a non-conference matchup scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight.
