BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Attorney’s office makes available a summary of court cases handled by the office in district court.

COURT SUMMARIES

6-8-25 – 6-19-26

– Philip Arel Brown, 73, Boone, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in jail, all suspended. On the suspended portion the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include an assaultive behavior class, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Nickolas Scott Fitzgerald, 47, Ogden, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year in jail with all but 2 days suspended. On the suspended portion the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a batterer’s education course, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Ogden Police Department.

– Anna Marie Pearey, 61, Boone, was found in Contempt by the District Court following a stipulation for having violated the terms of her probation. On the Contempt, the defendant was sentenced to 202 days in jail.

– Jayden Marie Danner, 19, Boone, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following guilty pleas to OWI 1st, and, Driving While Revoked, both Serious Misdemeanors. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days in jail, completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Keaton Elliot Peace, 34, Ames, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Interference with Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days in jail plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Samuel Roy Brant, 27, Ames, was granted a deferred judgment by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to OWI 1st, a Serious Misdemeanor. On the deferred, the defendant was placed on probation with terms to include completion of a substance abuse evaluation with follow through of treatment, a course for drinking drivers, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Benjamin Scott Pepper, 28, Zearing, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Driving While Barred, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 2 days in jail plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Mariah Clare Storrow, 30, Boone, was sentenced by the District Associate Court following a guilty plea to Driving While Revoked, a Serious Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Melissa Louise Strable, 47, Des Moines, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Violation of No Contact Order, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to 7 days in jail, plus payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

– Christian Alexander Caruth, 28, Boone, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Harassment 3rd, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department.

– Jeremy David Sprunger, 37, Boone, was sentenced by the Magistrate Court following a guilty plea to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Simple Misdemeanor. The defendant was sentenced to payment of a fine and fees. The case was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
