
The Boone baseball team earned a split in Raccoon River Conference action Monday, June 8, falling in the opener before bouncing back with a decisive win in game two against Carlisle.
Game 1: Carlisle 9, Boone 3
Carlisle handed Boone a 9-3 loss in the first game.
Levi Behn paced the offense with two hits, including a home run, while driving in two runs and scoring once.
Noah Davies also went deep, finishing with a solo home run, one hit, two runs scored and an RBI.
On the mound, Conor Scoggins took the loss for the Toreadors, recording five strikeouts in his outing.
Game 2: Boone 14, Carlisle 4
Boone responded in the nightcap, erupting for 14 runs in a dominant 14-4 victory to salvage the split.
Davies collected two hits, including another home run, while scoring twice and driving in four runs and stealing two bases.
Behn had a hit, a run scored, and two RBIs.
Hendrix Moorman added 1 hit, 2 runs and 2 RBIs, Noah Gorman had 1 hit, 1 run and 3 RBIs, and Ryan Bowers finished with 1 hit, 1 run and 2 RBIs.
Landon Youngblood earned the win in relief, tallying five strikeouts.
With the split, Boone moves to 5-4 overall, while Carlisle now stands at 10-3 on the season.
The Toreadors will return to action tonight against North Polk (6-6) in Alleman in a conference game.
