
The Boone baseball team delivered late-game heroics Thursday, May 21, rallying for five runs in the final inning to defeat Norwalk 9-8 in a dramatic finish at Memorial Park.
Trailing heading into the seventh, the Toreadors found a way to complete the comeback and improve to 2-0 on the season.
Norwalk jumped out to an early advantage, scoring two runs in the third inning and extending its lead with a big four-run fifth inning.
The Warriors added another run in the sixth and one more in the seventh to take an 8-4 lead late.
Boone chipped away throughout the middle innings, scoring two runs in the fourth, one run in the fifth and one run in the sixth.
Down four runs entering their final at-bat, Boone erupted for five runs in the seventh inning to complete the comeback.
Levi Behn led Boone at the plate by going 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two doubles.
Behn also picked up the win on the mound, pitching two innings in relief to close out the game.
Tyce Carlson added two hits, including a double, and drove in a run.
Landon Youngblood, Noah Davies, Ryan Bowers, and Uriah Gorman each recorded a hit.

Youngblood and Gorman each scored two runs.
Youngblood started on the mound and gave Boone a solid outing, working five innings with four strikeouts.
Behn’s relief effort down the stretch helped seal the comeback victory.
The win moves Boone to 2-0, while Norwalk drops to 0-3.
The Toreadors return to Memorial Park to host Ogden (1-1) tonight.
