The Boone girls’ soccer team came up just short Thursday. May 21, in a 2-1 loss to Newton in non-conference play.
Delaney Good scored Boone’s lone goal, finishing one of her two shots on goal.
Whitney Chesnut provided the assist.
Goalkeeper Reese Majors recorded 18 saves and posted a 90 percent save rate.
With the loss, Boone drops to 4-8-4 on the season, while Newton improves to 7-8-1.
The Toreadors will have a quick turnaround as they return home to host Denison-Schleswig (7-7-2) at 5:30 p.m. tonight at Goeppinger Field.
