
The Ogden softball team opened its 2026 season Thursday, May 21, erupting for a 30-4 victory over Ar-We-Va in three innings at Ogden High School.
Ar-We-Va scored four runs in the opening inning to jump out to an early lead.
That advantage didn’t last long.
Ogden answered in a big way, exploding for 15 runs in the bottom of the first inning to take command.
The Bulldogs continued their relentless attack with 13 runs in the second inning and added two more in the third to bring the game to a quick conclusion.
Junior Sophie Seligman delivered one of the top performances of the night, going 2-2 at the plate while driving in five RBIs, scoring four runs, and adding both a double and a home run.
Junior Clara Kruse went 3-for-4, scoring four runs and driving in three RBIs.
Senior Lauren Mathews added two hits, including a triple, while scoring three runs and knocking in three RBIs.
Sophomore Adi Banks chipped in with two hits, two RBIs, and a double.
Senior Katie Wilcoxson recorded nine strikeouts over three innings.
The win moves Ogden to 1-0, while Ar-We-Va falls to 0-1.
Ogden hosts South Central Calhoun (0-0) at 7 tonight.
