
The Boone boys’ soccer team opened its season with a pair of tough losses at home, falling to Des Moines Christian on Monday, March 30, and Greene County on Tuesday, March 31, at Goeppinger Field.
On Monday, Boone suffered a 10-0 loss to Des Moines Christian.
The Lions built an early advantage with four first‑half goals then added six more scores in the second half.
Junior goalkeeper Owen Hill made 11 saves, finishing the night with a 52.4 save percentage.
Boone returned to the field Tuesday with Greene County handing Boone a 9‑0 defeat.
Greene County scored twice in the first half before pulling away with seven goals in the second half.
Hill had 16 saves on the night and finished the match with a 64.0 save percentage.
Boone is scheduled to return to action on Thursday, April 9, when the Toreadors travel to Carlisle.
Carlisle currently has an 0‑0‑1 record, and Boone is 0-2.
