Boone CSD Staff Member Selected for ACTE Work-Based Learning Leadership Alliance

KWBG 05/14/26

BOONE, Iowa—Boone Community School District staff member Amy ‘Bozz’ Bossard has been selected to participate in the Association for Career and Technical Education’s (ACTE) 2026 Work-Based Learning Leadership Alliance cohort.

Bossard serves as the facilitator for Boone EDGE, the district’s work-based learning (WBL) initiative. She is one of 10 WBL leaders chosen from across the country for the selective, yearlong national leadership development program designed to cultivate future leaders advancing high-quality work-based learning opportunities for students nationwide.

Bossard is the only Iowa representative selected for the cohort and one of only two participants from the Midwest.

As part of the alliance, participants engage in leadership training, collaborative learning, mentorship opportunities, and a capstone project that contributes meaningful value to the national WBL community of practice. The alliance launched at the 2026 ACTE Work-Based Learning Conference, held April 29 through May 1 in Providence, Rhode Island, and concludes with recognition at the 2027 WBL Conference.

In addition to being selected for the national cohort, Bossard was appointed to serve as the ACTE Work-Based Learning Region III representative, further elevating Boone EDGE’s presence at the national level.

“We are incredibly proud of Bozz and this outstanding accomplishment,” said Superintendent Julie Trepa. “Her passion for connecting students with meaningful career experiences has made a tremendous impact on our students and community partners. This opportunity will allow her to collaborate with leaders from across the country and bring valuable ideas and strategies back to Boone EDGE and our district.”

The ACTE WBL Leadership Alliance includes educators and work-based learning professionals from across the United States representing a wide range of professional experiences and perspectives. The alliance supports the organization’s mission to strengthen career pathways and prepare learners for success through meaningful connections between education and the workplace.

Boone EDGE provides students with hands-on, career-connected learning experiences designed to help prepare them for future careers and postsecondary opportunities through partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
