For Monday’s KWBG Public Affairs program Tuned In, our guest was Josh Long of the Boone Firefighters Association. They have a fundraiser coming up on Friday. In years past, the Association had sold shirts featuring different firefighting equipment. They are expanding their collection, and have plans to release a new shirt each year. This year’s shirt will feature the Truck 8-66, the 2007 platform aerial ladder truck that was custom built for Boone. The launch party will be this Friday evening at the Boone Valley Taproom from 5 to 9. In honor of the Firefighters, the local brewery has created “Platform Pilsner.” There will also be a Food Truck on site during the event.
