The Boone football team struggled to find an offensive rhythm Friday, September 18, as Iowa Falls-Alden defeated the Toreadors. 32-0. at Cadet Field in Iowa Falls.
Boone had trouble consistently moving the football against Iowa Falls-Alden’s defense.
The Toreadors had some opportunities created by their own defense, but the offense was unable to turn those chances into points.
Ryder Hilsabeck came up with an interception for Boone while Romero Young Jr. and Wrex Wilson were each credited with a fumble recovery.
Unfortunately, Boone could never put together a scoring drive.
Quarterback Ashten Petersen completed 11 of 19 passes for 67 yards.
Hilsabeck led the receiving corps with seven catches for 44 yards.
Patrick Houser added two receptions for 16 yards, while Silas Junck had one reception for eight yards.
Boone also had difficulty establishing its running game.
Maddox McIntyre led the Toreadors with 13 carries for 13 yards.
The Toreadors put together a good drive late in the fourth quarter but was unable to finish the possession with points.
Iowa Falls-Alden’s defense kept Boone off the scoreboard and finished off the 32-0 victory.
Boone drops to 2-2 overall, while Iowa Falls-Alden improves to 3-1.
The Toreadors will now turn their attention to district play.
Boone opens its district schedule by hosting Adel-DeSoto-Minburn (3-1) at 7 p.m. Friday, September 25.
It will be a busy night with a cheer clinic, Middle School Band Night and recognition of the 50th anniversary of Boone’s Central Iowa Conference championship team.
The Boone-ADM game will be broadcast on KWBG FM 101.5 and AM 1590 and will stream on kwbglive.com, with KWBG Sports Director Ryan Wendt on the call.
