The Boone girls’ cross country team ran against a large field Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Gilbert Invitational held on the Iowa State University Cross Country Course in Ames.
Competing against 19 teams, Boone finished 13th in the team standings with 330 points.
Emma Thomas led the Toreadors, placing 21st overall in 20:27.99.
Whitney Chesnut crossed the line in 21:13.49 to place 41st, while Reagan Morgan finished 50th in 21:45.75 as Boone placed three runners among the top 50 competitors.
Chloe Chesnut was the fourth scoring runner for the Toreadors in 24:50.37.
Bryana Morgan rounded out Boone’s scoring lineup in 26:02.54.
The Toreadors also received contributions from Lauren Erickson in 27:21.09; Elin Selby, who finished in 28:20.96; and Aubrey Erickson in 28:57.19.
Pella claimed the team championship with 26 points, while Pella’s Elsie Brenneman captured the individual title in 17 minutes, 48.11 seconds.

The Toreadors will return to action Thursday, Sept. 17, when they compete at Veterans Memorial Golf Club in Clear Lake.
