
The Boone boys’ cross country team competed Thursday, September 10, at the Gilbert Invitational on the Iowa State Cross Country Course, finishing 20th in the team standings.
Boone scored 575 points in a meet that featured 20 teams.
Austin Felder paced the Toreadors in 19:27.61, and Jonathan Myers was close behind in 19:29.80
Kam Lehman was Boone’s third scorer, crossing the finish line in 20:37.30.
Samuel Chesnut added a finish in 21:02.32, while Pearson Lampe rounded out the team’s scoring five with a time of 21:15.25.
Additional runners for Boone included Calvin Cook, who finished in 21:28.81; Samuel Hanna in 21:41.60; Ace Wolfgram in 21:47.51; Caleb Bartlett in 22:06.50; and Payce Crandall in 23:31.44.
Host Gilbert claimed the team championship with 63 points, while Gilbert’s Logan Bleich captured individual honors with a winning time of 15 minutes, 28.11 seconds.

The Toreadors will return to competition Thursday, September 17, at the Clear Lake Invitational held at Veterans Memorial Golf Club in Clear Lake.
