
The Boone girls’ soccer team battled through a busy week at home, earning a win while dropping two contests.
Boone 5, Central Iowa United 0
Boone won the first match of the Boone Invite Saturday, May 16, dominating Central Iowa United in a 5-0 victory at home.
The Toreadors displayed a balanced offensive attack with five different players scoring goals:
Whitney Chesnut scored 1 goal and 4 shots on goal while Emma Thomas had 1 goal and 3 shots on goal.
Maggie Whitney, Jenna Johnson and Jaelyn Addy scored 1 goal each.
Addy finished with two assists to go along with her goal.
Additional assists came from Macy Chesnut and Neveah Krambeer.
Goalkeeper Brooklyn Elliott recorded a shutout with two saves, posting a 100% save percentage.
Carroll Keumper Catholic 5, Boone 0
Later on Saturday, Boone took on Carroll Kuemper Catholic, falling 5-0.
Goalkeeper Reese Majors finished with 12 saves, posting a 70.6% save percentage.
Des Moines North 3, Boone 2
Boone fell just short in a 3-2 loss to Des Moines North Thursday, May 14, at Goeppinger Field.
Macy Chesnut and Thomas each scored a goal to keep Boone within striking distance.
Chesnut finished with two shots on goal and one conversion, while Thomas added a goal on two shots as well.
Whitney recorded the team’s lone assist.
Elliott made four saves and posted a 66.7% save rate
The Toreadors now sit at 3-7-4 on the season as they prepare for a home matchup against Des Moines East on Tuesday, May 19.
