The Boone girls tennis team continued its postseason run Wednesday, September 30, with a dominating performance against Atlantic in regional competition at Iowa State University.
The Toreadors swept all six singles matches, with each Boone player winning in straight sets.
At number one singles, Maiya Phanchantraurai defeated Jacobi Harter 6-0, 6-0.
Kaylee Kuehl handled Lilly Willrich at number two singles, winning 6-2, 6-1.
Livi Schneider earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Dylin Ball at number three singles, while Claire Hardinger defeated Taryn O’Brien 6-2, 6-0 at number four.
Olivia Conlin picked up another straight-set victory for Boone at number five singles, defeating Hope Hammontree 6-1, 6-0.
Harper Kuehl completed the singles sweep at number six with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Sophia Rose.
With Boone securing the team victory through singles play, the Toreadors continued their strong postseason showing after defeating Carroll Kuemper Catholic 5-0 in the Class 1A Region 2 team competition on Saturday, September 26.
Boone now moves to play Shenandoah or Clarinda Saturday, October 3, as the Toreadors continue their bid for a trip to the Class 1A state team tennis tournament.
