
The Boone girls’ tennis team turned in a dominant performance Tuesday, September 15, rolling to a 10-1 victory over Ankeny.
The Toreadors claimed a senior night victory in the last regular season and last home match.
The Toreadors controlled the meet from start to finish, sweeping all six singles matches before winning four of the five doubles contests to secure the convincing team victory.
In singles play, Maiya Phanchantraurai opened the day with a 4-0, 4-0 win at No. 1 singles.
Kaylee Kuehl matched that score with a straight-set victory at No. 2.
Livi Schneider earned a 4-2, 4-0 win at No. 3, and Claire Hardinger followed with a 4-0, 4-1 triumph at No. 4.
Olivia Conlin posted a 4-1, 4-1 win at No. 5, and Harper Kuehl completed the singles sweep with a 4-0, 4-0 victory at No. 6.
Boone continued its strong play in doubles competition.
The No. 1 team of Kaylee Kuehl and Schneider earned a 4-0, 4-1 victory, while the No. 2 pairing of Maiya Phanchantraurai and Hardinger did not surrender a game in a 4-0, 4-0 win.
The No. 3 doubles team of Rozzie Stevenson and Michaella Anderson also cruised to a 4-0, 4-0 victory.
Boone added another point at No. 5 doubles as Rylee Eatock and Emma Peebler won 4-2, 4-0.
Ankeny’s lone point came at No. 4 doubles, where the Boone team of Halle Bailey and Sarah Owen was defeated 4-1, 4-3.

Boone will host the Class 1A, Region 2, Individual Regional tennis meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, at McHose Park.
Winterset, Carroll, North Polk, Audubon, Creston, Ballard, Nevada, Webster City and Boone all will compete.
The winners and runners-up in singles and doubles play will advance to the state individual tennis meet held Wednesday and Thursday, October 7 and 8, at Waukee Northwest High School in Waukee.
