The Boone girls’ tennis team rolled Past Carroll Keumper Catholic, 5-0, Saturday, September 26, in the Class 1A Region 2 team tennis competition at Iowa State University.
Boone controlled the singles portion of the dual, getting straight-set victories throughout the lineup in positions two through six and doubles play was not necessary.
No. 2 Kaylee Kuehl defeated Marissa Anthofer, 6-0, 6-0, while No. 3 Livi Schneider blanked Kate Stoelk by the same 6-0, 6-0 score.
No. 4 Claire Hardinger earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Anna Schuette.
No. 5 Olivia Conlin defeated Madigan Hoyt, 6-1, 6-0, and No. 6 Harper Kuehl topped Rachel Lally, 6-0, 6-0.
No. 1 Maiya Phanchantraurai defeated Charlotte Schwabe, 6-3, in the first set when the meet was called.
“It was a great start to team regionals,” Latimer said.

With the dual decided, Boone secured the 5-0 team victory and improved to 11-1 on the season.
Carroll Kuemper Catholic finishes its season with a 2-10 record.
Next up for Boone is another big regional matchup.
The Toreadors will host Atlantic, which enters with a 10-1 record, on Wednesday, September 30, at McHose Park in Boone.
Boone will take an 11-1 record into Wednesday’s contest as the Toreadors look to continue their postseason run.
