The Boone and Perry girls’ soccer teams played to a 0-0 tie Friday, April 17, at Perry High School.
Boone goalkeeper Reese Majors turned away eight shots to post a 100.0 save percentage in her second shutout of the season.
Boone moved to 1‑1‑2 on the year with the tie, while Perry improved to 2‑2‑1.
The Toreadors will host No. 13 Gilbert (2‑0‑2) tonight, and kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Goeppinger Field.
Boys game
The Boone boys’ soccer team dropped a 9-0 decision to Newton Friday, April 17, at Goeppinger Field.
Newton scored eight goals in the first half to seize control of the match before adding one more goal after halftime.
Boone goalkeeper Lincoln Buchwald finished with 10 saves on 19 shots.
Newton improved to 2‑7 on the season, while Boone fell to 0‑6.
The Toreadors will hit the road tonight to face Gilbert (4‑0), and the match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
