BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Municipal Band’s ’26 Summer Concert series began Wednesday evening with a good turnout on a warm evening. The Municipal Band has had a working relationship with the Ericson Public Library the past couple of years and will continue that relationship this season and will perform a kids’ concert on Wednesday, June 10, with a “scary” theme.
The Boone Big Band will perform Wednesday, June 24, and a patriotic concert will be held on Saturday, July 4, followed by the City of Boone fireworks.
The Boone band will host the 34th annual Iowa Municipal Band Festival at the pavilion from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 11.
Nine bands from across Iowa will play a concert at the top of the hour, small groups will perform in between the bands, and Boone will play the final concert of the festival at 6 p.m.
In addition, Boone Municipal Band concerts will be rebroadcast at 11 a.m. Sundays, May 31-July 21, on KWBG, FM 101.5, AM 1590 and will stream on kwbglive.com
