BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Police Department has concluded it’s investigation into the deaths of two Boone residents Monday. Boone Police Chief John Wiebold released a state this afternoon:
After careful investigation, it has been determined that Ronette Bonnell’s cause of death was homicide. The suspect in the case, Gregory Evenson, died by suicide.
Out of respect for the grieving families, no further information will be released at this time.
The Boone Police Department thanks the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa Medical Examiner’s Office for their assistance.
Police responded to a call about a deceased male Monday morning, August 31st at 1520 15th Street in Boone. Officers entered the residence and discovered a second body. They were identified as Ronette Bonnell and Gregory Evenson.
