with us on our senior spotlight here on KWBG. Get a chance to go to Ogden and talk with Brayden Miller today about well being a senior we'll talk about summer and sports and I know it keeps himself very busy during the year and Brayden we were just kind of visiting off air about what you did this past summer. Sounds like it was pretty busy for you huh? Yeah it says busy summer for sure. What give me some things you had a chance to do this past summer? I know obviously you're probably busy with football and basketball and some other stuff but what else did you get a chance to do this summer? Yeah a lot of times I do football and basketball for sure all month long. I have a job on the side and then went on my family vacation. It was a quick three months but it was very fun. That's good now where did you get a chance to go somewhere fun for vacation? Yes we went to Yellowstone National Park out there. Brayden hold on a second that's not just like running up the road and tenting out tell me about Yellowstone a little bit. Oh it was it was so much fun once in a lifetime experience going out there. That's great now were you guys there for for a while or how long were you guys out to out and about? Yeah we went up for about a week and then we went to Grand Teton National Park as well so we just spent time in the Wyoming area. That's great now what was the what was the heat and humidity like out there? Well it was it was hot. I would say even I was first and out there but it was okay. That's good so a chance to kind of rest and rewind because like you said I know busy with basketball and football was it nice to get away from it from a little bit though? Yeah it was a little bit um I never liked taking time away from sports but you get it every once in a while. I was gonna say Brayden sometimes we need to let our bodies recharge a little bit don't we? Yeah that's true. That's fair that's fair all right so I know we haven't quite been a senior for too long barely barely a couple of weeks here but tell me what's it been like being the oldest kid in school? It's different just every day going around in the hallways and out on the football field being a senior being more of a leader. It's different but I'm willing to be that leader and it's a great feeling being someone people can look at too as a senior now. Yeah that's great. Tell me about classes a little bit what's your first semester look like at OHS? So I take five classes here um a few college level classes but I have five classes and I have three periods off during the day so I have a little bit of free time um but it's been a great start to the school year. Okay so I know this is going to be a tough one but you can probably tell already what's going to be your most fun class here this first semester? Oh I like government I like the history. Sure. I also like business class. Okay. Mr. Blavitt. Now is this something or one of these two things maybe something you want to use in the future or have we kind of thought about maybe what we want to do when when graduation hits someday? Yeah I'm thinking to go into business after high school. Okay. For your university in the state of Iowa so yeah I'm looking forward to it. What uh is there a certain type of business that kind of interests you Braden or are we still kind of open on on where we may go you know with that route? Yeah not particularly a certain area um still looking into it but I've always kind of wanted to go into business. Okay that's cool. So would you want to work for yourself or would you want to work for like a corporation? I would say a corporation. Okay. Would be for me. Sure for sure. All right so we asked you about your most fun class Braden. I got to ask the opposite don't I? What class is going to be the most difficult you think for a semester? Oh geez uh I would say maybe English or I'm thinking comp so it's a college level class or DMAC. A lot of essays. A lot a lot of typing and writing and stuff huh? Yeah yeah. I get you I get you. All right I told you we talked a little sports so we got to do that. You guys got a nice victory last Friday night. What was it like uh running out in the football field for the first time as a senior? Oh it was absolutely amazing. I was looking forward to that day for a long time being able to put on the pads again and go out and play first game. I was looking forward to playing parody again as well. I gotcha. Yeah and it's Friday night lights we love that right? Yes we do love that. All right so now you get a chance now as this interview's airing you guys are going to be at halftime of your football game against Eagle Grove. What's it going to be like and you've already done it by the time this airs but what's it going to be like running out on home field for the first time in Friday night lights as a senior? Well I'm looking forward to it so much. I I love playing here at home and the crowd and the atmosphere and the band and the student section is absolutely amazing. That's awesome. I love playing home games. Just getting ready before a game and protecting our home turf is something we look forward to every Friday. Oh I know you do. I know you do. All right I'm going to put the tough one on here Brandon. I know we're right in the middle of football season and trust me I'll talk to both coaches and keep them off your back but if I made you pick me a favorite because I know you love to hoop. We talking basketball or we talking football Brandon? Oh that's such a tough question. Oh I'm going to say basketball. Just by a little bit though right?
I don't like one sport a lot more than the other. Coach Lloyd won't get after you I promise you okay.
Brandon I always like to end interviews with one last piece of advice and I think what's always fun is what seniors would tell the freshmen to have a great four years at OHS so Brandon you can do sports you can do academics whatever you want but what do you think you tell the freshmen to have a great four years at OHS? I would say the academic piece of it keep up with your work and even though sometimes it might be a struggle always be a student athlete first and then on the sports side of it just give your effort every practice every game and just give your absolute best no matter what even when it gets difficult. Brandon it's good advice and you went with both of them academics and sports I love it that's awesome. Hey thanks for some time Brandon on our senior halftime report have a great rest of your senior yogurt we'll be watching. All right thank you so much Ryan thank you for your time. You bet Brad Miller again joining us as our senior spotlight continues on KWBG.
