
The Boone girls’ and boys’ soccer teams both lost to North Polk Monday, April 13.
Girls’ game
At Goeppinger Field, the girls dropped an 8–0 decision to No. 5‑ranked North Polk.
The Comets built control early, scoring four goals in the first half and continued the pressure with four more in the second half.
Goalkeeper Reese Majors finished the match with 20 saves, while allowing 8 goals, posting a save percentage of 71.4 percent.
North Polk improved to 4‑0 on the season, and Boone slipped to 1‑1.
The Boone girls return to the road on Wednesday, April 15, traveling to Huxley to take on Ballard (1‑1) at Ballard Middle School.
Boys’ game
The boys also faced North Polk, traveling to North Polk Stadium in Alleman, where they fell 10–0 to the Comets.
North Polk surged out of the gate, scoring eight first‑half goals, before adding two more in the second half to seal the win.
Goalkeeper Owen Hill recorded five saves and finished with 5 saves and 10 goals allowed, for a 33.3 percent save rate.
The victory pushed North Polk to 3‑1‑1, while Boone dropped to 0‑4.
Boone will look to bounce back on Wednesday, April 15, when the Toreadors host Ballard (1‑4) at Goeppinger Field, with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
