
The No. 14 Boone softball team came up short against fourth-ranked North Polk, falling 11-9, in a Raccoon River Conference game Wednesday, June 24, at Gary Creasman Field.
Tenley Williams paced the Toreadors offensively, collecting three hits, including a double, while driving in a run and scoring once.
Williams also took the loss in a complete-game effort.
Olivia Garver added a big night at the plate with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.
Harper Kuehl chipped in with a hit, two runs scored and an RBI, while Halle Bailey contributed a hit, a run scored and two RBIs.
Kaylee Kuehl recorded a hit and scored once, and Brooke Weisbrod added an RBI.
Hadley Gustafson also crossed the plate for Boone.
Boone fell to 12-10 overall and 4-6 in the conference while North Polk improved to 15-11 overall and 8-1 in the conference.
The Toreadors will hit the road for another conference matchup tonight in Huxley against Ballard (8-15 overall, 3-7 conference).
