
The Boone softball team used a pair of big early innings to power past Webster City, 11–1, in a non-conference matchup Tuesday, June 16, at Gary Creasman Field.
The Toreadors answered quickly after Webster City plated a run in the top of the first inning, scoring four runs in the bottom half to take the lead for good.
Boone added five more runs to build a commanding 9–1 advantage.
Boone capped its scoring with two additional runs in the fourth inning.
Hailee Bingham provided a highlight with a two-run home run and also crossed the plate once.
Kaylee Kuehl collected two hits, scored three runs, and drove in three.
Brooke Weisbrod added two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Claire Hardinger chipped in two hits and scored twice.
Olivia Garver contributed two hits, a run scored, and an RBI, while Halle Bailey added a hit and scored twice.
Harper Kuehl and Tenley Williams each drove in a run.
Williams also earned the complete-game victory, striking out four while limiting Webster City to a single run.
With the win, Boone improves to 8–7 overall, while Webster City drops to 8–8.
Boone will travel to take on No. 9-ranked Winterset in a Raccoon River Conference matchup.
The Huskies enter the contest with an 11–7 record overall and a 5–2 mark in conference play.
