Boone volleyball ends season at Nevada

On Tuesday, October 21, the Boone volleyball team saw its 2025 season come to a close in a Class 4A Region 5 first round game, falling in straight sets to Nevada, 3-0, at Nevada High School.

On Tuesday, October 21, the Boone volleyball team saw its 2025 season come to a close in a Class 4A Region 5 first round game, falling in straight sets to Nevada, 3-0, at Nevada High School. 

Boone’s Jenna Johnson led the offense with 18 assists.  

Delaney Good paced the attack with 7 kills, while Madelyn Davidson and Tria Hoyle each added 5 kills.  

Davidson also made her presence felt at the net with 4 blocks. 

Defensively, Karsyn Smith led the back row with 13 digs, and Claire Hardinger contributed a serve ace, going a perfect 9-for-9 from the service line.  

As a team, Boone served at a solid 90 percent clip. 

With the loss, Boone finishes the season 10-17 overall and 1-7 in the Raccoon River Conference.  

Nevada improves to 26-14 and advances to face Ballard (25-10) Thursday, October 23, at Ballard High School. 

The match also marked the final game for head coach Shannon Zinnel, who announced her retirement last week.  

2025 season leaders 

For the season, Johnson had 343 assists, 110 digs, 34 ace serves and 90.1% serve accuracy, and Hoyle ended with 101 kills. 

Delaney Good recorded 78 kills, 134 digs and 22 ace serves, and Davidson ended with 71 kills and 17 blocks.

Additionally, Madilyn Barrett had 71 kills. 

The defense was led by Smith and Baylee Bunning who had 142 digs each, and Taylor Arringdale ended with 121 digs and 90% serve accuracy 

Finally, Hardinger had a team-best 94.2% serve accuracy.
