The Boone volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Gilbert on Tuesday, September 15, falling 3-1 in Raccoon River Conference action at Gilbert High School.
Claire Hardinger led the Toreadors at the net with 11 kills, while Ava Johnson added seven kills.
Halle Johnson had 13 assists.
Defensively, Karsyn Smith collected a team-high 40 digs, while Hailee Bingham finished with 37.
Taylor Engnell added 22 digs.
Kyra Darby and Harper Boyd each recorded one block for the Toreadors.
Smith also led Boone from the service line with two aces.
The loss dropped Boone to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in Raccoon River Conference play.
The Toreadors return to action tonight at the Best of Boone County Triangular at Madrid.
Boone will face Madrid at 6 p.m. before taking on Ogden at 7 p.m. The triangular concludes with Ogden facing Madrid at 8 p.m.
All three matches will be broadcast on KWBG, FM 101.5, AM 1590 with Sports Director Ryan Wendt on the call.
