Gehling’s Classroom Clinic began with Green County School and has expanded across the state in schools of all sizes. Bill Skare, Boone City Administrator visits about the budget for the city and more. Skare says the Council has a preliminary budget that will keep the same property tax rate for the next fiscal year. He also noted there are a number of projects that will continue including some related to the the Daisy Project. Skare also noted that the Council recently review the Sanitary Sewer Inflow and Infiltration program and will be moving ahead with the 7th Phase in the next fiscal year. Mikaela Kienitz, CEO of the Boone County Hospital on Health Talk talks about the business of health care. Through December the hospital saw increased patient numbers and revenue on the inpatient side. The number were some of the highest in two years, with a lot of respiratory cases and an increase in flu cases. The trend has continued into the new calendar year. The number of births in the past calendar year at 130 and near that number expected in 2025. Several community events coming up including another Silent Disco at Boone High School on February 2nd to raise funds for Project Be The Light. Aired Monday, January 27, 2025.
