Celebrate Community and Music at the 2026 Iowa Municipal Band Festival in Boone

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Municipal Band is proud to host the 34th annual Iowa Municipal Band Festival on Saturday, July 11, at Herman Park Pavilion.

This year’s festival features three first-time bands including the Nevada Community Band, the Council Bluffs Wind Ensemble and the Ballard Creek Big Band from Huxley.

This free event is held annually the second Saturday in July, rain or shine, and brings together community bands from across Iowa for a full day of music and camaraderie.

2026 Festival Schedule

· 10:00 a.m. – Ames Municipal Band (33rd appearance)

· 11:00 a.m. – Iowa Western Community Band, Council Bluffs (3rd appearance)

· 12:00 p.m. – Nevada Community Band (1st appearance)

· 1:00 p.m. – Council Bluffs Wind Ensemble (1st appearance)

· 2:00 p.m. – Ballard Creek Big Band, Huxley (1st appearance)

· 3:00 p.m. – Glenwood Community Band (2nd appearance)

· 4:00 p.m. – Heart of Iowa Band, Ames (8th appearance)

· 5:00 p.m. – Urbandale Adule Community Band (19th appearance)

· 6:00 p.m. – Boone Municipal Band (34th appearance)

A food court will offer sandwiches, pies, ice cream and drinks.

Seating is available at bleachers or picnic tables or bring your own lawn chair.

A shuttle service will be available to assist with transportation from parking areas to the pavilion.

Whether you’re a longtime attendee or a first-time visitor, this is a day you won’t want to miss!
