Judy Loehrer, 83, Ames, Iowa
AMES, Iowa—Judy Loehrer, 83, of Ames, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Judy was born on June 13, 1943 in Boone, the daughter of Lawrence and Maxine (Dickerson) Loehrer. She graduated from Sacred Heart in 1961, and earned her Associate of Arts degree at Boone Junior College. Judy was employed at Principal Financial in Des Moines.
Judy was an avid Iowa State Cyclone fan, and never missed any games. She was deeply devoted to her family, especially her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judy is survived by a brother, Michael (Ann) Loehrer of Dublin, OH; sister, Kathy Lassen of Bluffton, SC; five nieces and nephews, Molly (David) Ketcham of Edmond, OK, Matt (Robyn) Loehrer of Olathe, KS, Alex (Abby) Loehrer of Madeira, OH, Jay (Kelly) Lassen of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Erika (Brian) Neyt of Eagle Point, OR, and sixteen great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:30 AM, at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 915 12th Street, with Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Boone. Immediately following the inurnment, there will be a luncheon and time of fellowship in the Fitzgerald Hall at Sacred Heart Church.
