With us on Coach's Corner, KWBG, going to talk some Ogden baseball today. Scott Church joining us. The Bulldogs get ready for the post-season coming up later on this week. And actually, we're going to start there because the last time we talked, we did not know the post-season brackets yet. And Scott, I guess, give me your first thoughts when you saw the bracket that Ogden would be involved in. What did you think when you first saw it? I'm really happy with getting the three seed, I think, playing the strength of the schedule that we did. I think the association helped us out there. And we got an opportunity to host at home the first-round game against South Hamilton team. But we're definitely not going to overlook by any means. And hopefully, we take care of business there and then move on to the second round. But our focus will be on South Hamilton. And we got to take care of what we need to take care of there to advance and move on. So it's a tough bracket, no doubt about it. You got I-35 in there, which is a solid baseball team that we're really familiar with in our conference. And then you have the second-ranked team in QA and Rollin' Story on the other side. So yeah, it's a tough and challenging bracket. But one, I think our kids will be up and ready to compete at. I'll tell you what, Scott. I've always been on the top of the mountain yelling at this, listen, if you're going to make me have to play a conference team, make me have to win to get to a conference team. So I like your bracket in that regard. Of course, I'd like less West Central Activities conference teams in a bracket. But Scott, I've always felt like, listen, in the postseason, if I win and then I see a conference team, so be it. Sometimes that happens. Yeah, exactly. You definitely don't want to play a conference team in that first round, just because you're so familiar with one another. But if we're fortunate enough to get to that second round and we get a I-35, I think that matchup will be a really good one. And we're familiar with them. They're familiar with us. And it just comes down to playing the game and executing at that time. And that's what you do in the district baseball, is you want to be playing your best at that time. And hopefully you get hot and you survive in advance. And that's the meaning of the game. Well, you got a nice victory last night against Panorama. And we're starting to dwindle down, obviously, with games left. So it's always nice to kind of walk into the postseason with some momentum. And Scott, you guys got after it right away last night. Apparently, kids wanted to find their way to some air conditioning, because you had six runs in the first inning, Scott. Bats were ready to go. Yeah, last night we came out swinging the bats really well. And this team had that in them when they believe. And I really believe when we have Coulson on the mound, our confidence level really rises. I think we play so much better baseball. Like I told them, I don't know why that is, but it shouldn't matter who's on the mound. But for some odd reason, when Coulson gets to start, our team is a little bit more ready and ready to go. And last night, we definitely showed that with our bats. And it's fun to come out and get six runs in the first and kind of relaxes everybody and makes things happen. And we're able to get some other pitchers in there last night that we feel that is going to help us in the tournament. And hopefully, we continue that on here the next couple of games that we finish up a season. And we've got ADM tonight, and that will be a tough one in a bigger school. And then we wrap up the season with Brandi Christian on Wednesday nights. So there's going to be plenty of opportunities for our pitchers to throw the next two nights to get dialed in. And we're kind of locked down to where we're going to go with our lineup come district time. I was just getting ready to ask you that, Scott. Are we still thinking about what we may do coming up here at the end of the week? Or is that something we kind of have set in stone? Yeah, I think we're ready to go. I think Coach Ager and I have sat down and put pencil to paper. And we feel this is our best lineup that we're going with. And we're going to do that for the next three nights moving forward and see what happens. And that's what we feel confident with. That's what we're going to go with. And hopefully, we can get our backs rolling and support our pitching staff. And if we can do that and play really good defense behind us, we could be a tough out. But again, it's high school baseball. It's high school kids. And we've got to stay focused. And we've got to finish and have a lot of fun and see if we can make a run here in the postseason. Scott, you're kind of in a unique position just because normally this time of year, I ask my coaches, hey, have you talked to the kids yet about postseason? Have you kind of explained the different animal? You got so many seniors on this team, Coach. I don't think you need to have that conversation. Or maybe am I wrong? Do you still need to? We talk about it a little bit. No, I mean, for the most part, we have a senior-oriented group. And they made a nice run last year in the district tournament and got to the district final. And they're battle tested. But at the end of the day, it's up to them what they want to do and how they want to compete and how they want to go out and finish their senior season. So we'll see what happens. I'm excited about the opportunity on Friday night. Hopefully we come ready to play and survive in advance and move on. Scott, as always, thank you so much for some time. Best of luck with ADM tonight. And we'll talk to you again here real soon. All right, I appreciate it. Thank you. You bet. Scott Church again joining us. Ogden Baseball here on Coaches Corner.
