Lauren Dvorak won the discus, and Paige Richards won the 100-meter dash for the Madrid girls’ track team at the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Early Bird Coed Meet Thursday, March 27.
Dvorak placed 1st in the discus with a throw of 114-11 and placed 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 35-09.00.
Richards placed 1st in the100-meter dash in 12.77 and placed 3rd in the 200-meter dash in 26.77.
Katelyn Brandhorst finished 2nd in the 3000-meter run in 11:29.05 and was 4th in the 800-meter run in 2:32.75.
The distance medley relay of Jillian Olmstead, Lillie Benton, Adelyn White and Madelyn Grothus placed 2nd in 4:54.53.
Grothus placed 3rd in the 1500-meter run in 5:18.53, and Ashlyn Burkhart placed 4th in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:28.44.

No team scores were kept, and four teams, ADM, Madrid, Gilbert and West Des Moines Dowling Catholic, participated.
Next week, the Madrid boys and girls run at Earlham Tuesday, April 1.
