
Janice Clark, 89, Boone, Iowa
BOONE, Iowa—Janice Lee Clark, 89, of Boone, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Westhaven Community in Boone.
Janice was born September 15, 1936, in Boone, the daughter of Frederich “Earl” and Esther Mary (Krug) Goetzman. She started her education in a one-room schoolhouse and graduated with the Class of 1955 from Boone High School.
She was united in marriage to Donald Lee Anderson and to this union, four sons were born. Donald passed away in an automobile accident in 1967. Janice married Tom Clark in 1970, and they later divorced.
Janice ran her own in-home daycare for a number of years. She was a seamstress, and enjoyed crocheting potholders, hangers, and afghans and helped her mother making quilts for all the family. Janice loved collecting angels and listening to country music. She was a longtime member of both St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Lee Anderson; great-grandson, Keaton Clark; her brother, Richard (Bernadine) Goetzman; and daughters-in-law, Cindy Clark and Denise Clark.
Janice is survived by her four sons, David Clark of Boone, Kendall (fiancée, Nancy Bennett), Scott (Barb) Clark of Boone and Jon (Patty) Clark of Story City; ten grandchildren, Chris Clark, Mary (Jason) Lonergan, Mindy (Steve) Kelley, Matthew Clark, Douglas Clark, Dan Clark, Tony Clark, Kyle (La’Kesa) Clark, Alex (Jewel) Clark and Samantha (Jaquese Sheets) Clark; 12 great-grandchildren, Josie, Karsyn, Madee, Cami, Jaslyn (Cody), Tanner, Gracie, Colson, Legacy, Miles, Milan and Avani; two great-great-grandchildren, Cameron and Kendra; and two nieces.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel, 1006 6th Street, Boone. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 1, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 712 12th Street, Boone, with Rev. Jessten Heimer officiating. Interment will be at Bass Point Cemetery, Boone.
