The Madrid boys’ cross country team placed sixth Monday, September 14, at the Mike Carr Invitational held at the Ballard Golf and Country Club, finishing with 140 points in Class B.
Pella Christian captured the team championship with 35 points, followed by Nodaway Valley (89) and Iowa Falls-Alden (106).
Madrid’s score of 140 points placed the Tigers ahead of Roland-Story, Woodward-Granger and Eagle Grove.
Caleb Berberich paced Madrid with a 12th-place finish, covering the course in 18 minutes, 8.7 seconds.
Hudson White was close behind in 17th place with a time of 18:19.7.
Jacob Brandhorst placed 21st in 18:27.0 as the top three Madrid runners all finished within 19 seconds of one another.
Kris Peterson added a 32nd-place finish in 19:06.0, and Cole Berberich completed the Tigers’ scoring five, finishing 58th in 21:57.0.
Sean Udelhoven placed 61st in 22:02.5, and Aiden Titus was 62nd in 22:05.3.

The Tigers next compete at the Norsemen Cross Country Invitational Thursday, September 24, at River Bend Golf Course in Stoy City.
