05/26/26

Officer met with a Madrid resident who turned in an item found outside of the library.  The item was a vape pen.  Officer disposed of the item.

Officer returned a lost/found wallet to a Madrid resident, after it was found and turned in over the weekend. 

Officer received a call of a dog running on 22nd Street.  Officer looked in the area but was unable to locate the animal.

Officer fingerprinted a Madrid resident for a job-related background check.

Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of South Green Street on an incomplete 911 call.  Officer spoke to a subject in the house that stated that he heard a subject yelling threats next door.  Officer spoke to the neighbor, who was just getting home, who stated that nothing came from his residence and that he did not hear anything. 

Officer assisted Boone County Ambulance with an emergency medical call at the Madrid Home.  Patient was transported to the hospital for treatment.   

Officer was called to a downtown apartment for a possible domestic situation.  Officer made contact with the parties and found out it was a verbal family dispute.  Officers calmed the situation down.  Boone County Ambulance was called to evaluate one patient.

Officer returned a phone call to Madrid resident reference a verbal domestic situation they had earlier in the night. The subject had questions about trying to get a protective order and also possibly having a civil stand by to retrieve property.

 05/27/26

Officer did background checks on two individuals who applied for a city solicitor license.  The two subjects will be going door-to-door for Fox Pest Control.  

Officer assisted an animal group, that had trapped a dog that had been running in town for days, with a place to get the animal safely out of the trap to check for a chip.  Nothing was located.  The animal was taken to a safe and secure location where they will spend an endless amount of time to attempt to locate the owner and reunite them with their dog.

Officer received a complaint of kids riding scooters on the new tennis courts at Edgewood Park.  Officer made contact with (3) juveniles just leaving the park.  They stated that it was not them but the officer warned them to stay off of them with the scooters and to tell their friends to do the same.

Officer was contacted by dispatch of a subject that was wanted on a theft warrant that lived in the city.  Officer made contact with Jay Alexander and arrested him for the warrant and transported him to the Boone County jail where he was held.

Officer did background checks on (2) new applicants for the Madrid Fire Department.

Officer did background checks on (3) individuals for a local landlord, for possible future tenants.

Officer assisted Madrid Fire/Rescue and Boone County Ambulance, with a medical call in the block of 600 North Kennedy.

Officer received a phone call about 2 young men soliciting solar products on Fairview Drive. Resident advised they seemed suspicious as they did not have any laptops or business cards or any items that would promote their product. Officer searched the area but did not find anyone matching the description in town.

05/28/26

Officer removed debris from the roadway, on Highway 210.  The debris was properly disposed of.

Officer checked on a complaint that was called in earlier in the week, in reference to a lot that needed mowed on North State Street.  The lot had been mowed and cleaned up.

Officer received a complaint on a property on West 7th Street dealing with an overgrown yard and several junk vehicles on the property.  Officer spoke to the property owner who stated that he would get the yard mowed immediately.  He also stated that three of the five vehicles on the property were waiting to be picked up by a Wrench and Go company.  Officer will follow-up with the owner to ensure that the property gets cleaned up.  

Officer received a call from a Madrid resident who feels he is being harassed by one of his neighbors. Officer provided the resident with options. This is an ongoing matter.

Officer was dispatched to Meadow Estates trailer court for a report of teenage boys entering an abandoned trailer. Officer was unable to locate the males in question.

05/29/26

Officer responded to the Madrid Police Department for a custody exchange.

Officer responded to the 400 block of South State Street on a report of juveniles causing a traffic hazard. The call came in with about a five-minute time delay. When officer arrived in the area there were no juveniles or anyone else in the area.

05/30/26

Officer responded to the Police Department, to meet with a subject reference getting a protective/ no contact order against an Urbandale resident. Officer advised them that Police Officers don’t issue those, we only enforce them. The officer suggested they speak with their attorney to file with the court.

Officer responded to the 900 block of South Kennedy, on a report of an Equinox or similar vehicle coming into the Madrid that had run another vehicle off the road and possibly made contact with that other vehicle south of Madrid. Officer stayed in the area, but no Equinox or similar vehicles came through on Kennedy (Highway 17).

05/31/26

Officer responded to the 600 block of West 1st Street, reference an alleged assault that occurred on the 29th. Officer spoke with all parties involved and determined that the incident stems from an ongoing civil dispute between the neighbors over a property line. Each party gave a conflicting account that placed accusations of several minor offenses on the other. Officer recommended they settle the disagreement in civil court and erect a very tall fence immediately after.

Officer responded to Edgewood Park reference a vehicle driving recklessly and was last seen leaving towards the highway. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle and believe it left town.

Officer responded to a call regarding a red van speeding through town, tailgating other drivers. Vehicle was reported to have exited on Highway 17 out of town prior to arrival of officers.

Officer responded to an aggressive dog that was loose in the 600 block of Maverick Lane. Dog was returned to proper residence several doors down.

Officer responded to a medical emergency involving chest pain in the 600 block of Kingman. Patient was alert, conscious, and breathing. Patient was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
