07/13/26
Officer did stationary patrol on the bike trail. Officer initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle that stopped on Highway 17 to allow bikes to cross. Officer educated the driver on the safety issues involved and gave him a verbal warning for the infraction.
Officer was given a gold necklace that was turned into City Hall that was found. The property can be claimed at the Madrid Police Department.
Officer followed up on a case from over the weekend, and spoke to a family member who gave additional information.
Officer spoke to an out-of-town subject and gave them directions to a downtown business.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident and gave them information on an on-going case.
Officer received a complaint from a subject driving on Highway 17. The caller reported that two juveniles on electric scooters, ran a stop-sign and crossed the Highway. She stated that she missed running them both over by inches. Officer looked in the area but could not locate the subjects. This is a serious issue that is occurring all over and after several deaths this summer and hundreds of close calls, Madrid is continuing to stop and speak to these kids and educate them on safety but parents need to step up and do the same.
Officer spoke with a subject that lost his wedding ring while out on a bike ride. If the men’s ring is located, please turn it into the Madrid Police Department, so that it can be returned to its owner.
Officer was dispatched to a gas leak in the 300 block of West 1st Street. Officer arrived and found a kitchen fire had occurred and there was extensive smoke/fire damage. Officer spoke to the Madrid Fire Chief / Assistant Chief and went through steps of the investigation. Officer assisted the owners with steps to start with including insurance and remediation.
Officer received a call from a resident who was involved in an incident this weekend. Officer took notes and passed on the information to the Officer in charge of the investigation.
Officer received a call regarding a vehicle speeding Northbound on Gerald Street. The caller also had film footage of the suspect speeding from her Ring doorbell camera. This is an ongoing investigation. The caller also gave a good description of the vehicle.

Officer met with and spoke with a Madrid resident and followed up on a case.
Officer received a complaint about a property at 21st and North Union, that had several junk vehicles and debris on the property. Officer had already served the property and the owner had removed several vehicles. Officer will follow back up and check on the progress of the (3) remaining vehicles and other junk on the property.

Officer received a report of a stolen scooter out of her yard on South Market Street. The scooter is described as a green/gray Go Trax. If located, please turn it in to the Madrid Police Department so that it can be returned to its owner.
Officer returned a call to a Madrid resident in the 500 block of Milwaukee Street. She stated that she returned home yesterday and thinks someone had entered her home due to her juvenile daughter missing perfume and some squishy toys. Officer will ask other tenants if they saw anything in the area.
Officer spoke to a Madrid homeowner, who wanted an officer to stop by and speak with his daughter, who was living in his house, and let her know that he would be serving a 30-day notice to vacate soon, due to him putting the house on the market for sale.
Officer took a phone call regarding a family member choosing to partake in illegal activities. Caller was advised that since he was in a position to currently decide either way, that he should look at not residing with that family member in order to minimize potential negative impact to his own status down the road.
Officer spoke with a resident at the station regarding an ongoing neighborhood dispute. Resident was advised on proper measures to minimize future issues.
Officer took a harassment report at the station. An advisal was made over the phone to the non-reporting party, in order to prevent further issues with the reporting party.
07/16/26
Officer received an email from the Boone County Attorney’s Office asking an officer to return a call to a subject from a past case. Officer spoke to the subject and received additional information on a past case. Officer then emailed an Officer with another agency working on a case with the same suspect, and requested any new evidence that they have received in this case.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident about being harassed by another resident. The subject did not want for the officer to speak with the other half, thinking it would make the situation worse. Officer instructed the subject to report any further harassment so that the subject could be given a warning before the situation gets any worse.
Officer met with a subject, who turned in a lost and found cell phone that they found at the park. The phone was locked with a code so that the officer could not get into it. The phone rang and was ultimately returned to the owner.
Officer responded to the 600 block of Maverick Lane, on an unknown problem. Officer was advised that this was an accidental 911 call.
Officer assisted with coordinating the Boone County Humane Society to pick up a found German Shepherd whose owner could not be located.
Officer responded back to the 600 block of Maverick Lane on a medical call. Patient was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
07/17/26
Officer responded to West North Street, for an open line 911 call. Officer determined that it was a pocket dial that occurred while the man was out mowing.
Officer responded to the Rankin Storage facility in the 900 block of South Kennedy Avenue, for a lift assist medical call. Officer and another family member were able to get the patient off the ground, no injuries were reported.
Officer took a voicemail report of a solicitor going door to door. Due to the time delay, the subject was not located.
Officer received a report of reckless driver coming into Madrid, there was a time delay and Officer was unable to locate the subject vehicle.
07/18/26
Officer assisted with a medical call on North Locust Street.
Officer received a call from Boone County Dispatch regarding a concerned citizen following a vehicle that could not stay in his lane and was varying speeds between 40 and 65 miles an hour. Officer located the vehicle and the driver Holden Sisco was found to be intoxicated. He was charged for driving with no plates, failure to maintain control, and OWI 1st. He was taken to the Boone County Jail without incident.
Officer responded to the Madrid Home to help a resident in need.
Officer stopped a vehicle that was called in by another motorist for reckless driving. The driver, a very elderly man, advised he was likely affected by the heat. He decided to take a break in the AC at Casey’s before continuing on.
Officer responded to the Flat Tire for a medical call.
Officer picked up a found brown, male, pit-bull type dog at the library. The animal was kept at the city kennel until the humane society could be contacted.
Owner of the brown, male, pit bull was located and the friendly dog was returned home.
07/19/26
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of North Market Street, for a family disagreement. One sibling accused another sibling of stealing 20 bucks, Officer was able to calm all parties down before leaving.
Officer received a phone call about possible theft occurring in the 500 block Milwaukee. This is an ongoing investigation.
