Norma Jean Crosman

OGDEN, Iowa—Norma Jean (Erickson) Crosman, 94, of Ogden, IA, passed away peacefully
June 29, 2025, at the Eastern Star Home, Boone, Iowa.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4:30 – 7:30pm at Community United Methodist Church in Ogden, Iowa. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Norma Crosman was born on August 13, 1930, at King’s Daughters Hospital, Perry, Iowa to Elmer Roy and Velma Irene (Heck) Erickson. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1949. On September 8, 1949, Norma was united in marriage to John (Jack) D. Crosman at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ogden, Iowa. At the time of Jack’s death on March 7, 2017, they had been married 67 years. Together, they started farming in 1952 and retired in 1993. Over the years, Norma enjoyed sewing, trying out new recipes, playing cards, attending family reunions, watching school sports, and camping with friends and family. She had a green thumb and grew many plants and flowers inside and out. For many years Jack and Norma traveled coast to coast enjoying their trips while researching family genealogy.

Survivors include her children Brenda Quinn of Piedmont, OK, Linda McCoy of Boone, IA, Dan Crosman (Jeanine) of Ogden, IA, and Jane Zahasky (Larry) of Piedmont, OK. Six grandchildren: Shelly McCoy Kooiker (Lance), Shawn McCoy (Bri), Bobby McCoy (Emilie), Eric Crosman (Emily), Paul Crosman (Melissa) and Drew Zahasky (Lindsay). Twelve great-grandchildren: Jadyn Kooiker Crnkovich (Cory), Lane Kooiker (Bailey), Briley McCoy, Kenzie McCoy, Alexis Stanton, Mavrick McCoy, Opal McCoy, Brock Crosman, Jakob Crosman, Jordyn Crosman, Zachary Crosman, and Isaac Crosman. Five great-great-grandchildren: Liam Wissink, Maisie Crnkovich, Lakynn Crnkovich, Case Crnkovich, and Lukas Kooiker.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother Roland (Bud) Erickson and wife Ruth, son-in-law Mike McCoy, and grandson Travis Fredrickson.

Memorials may be left to McGraw Senior Citizen Center or Community United Methodist Church in Ogden, IA.
