In 2026, the Ogden boys’ cross country team qualified for the Class 1A Iowa State Cross Country Championships for the 10th time in the past 12 seasons.

Despite having five meets canceled because of weather conditions, the Bulldogs consistently proved themselves against strong competition throughout the fall.

Their season culminated at the Class 1A State Qualifying Meet on October 22, where Ogden placed second to earn a team berth to state.

The Bulldogs also turned in a pair of fourth-place finishes late in the season.

Ogden placed fourth at the Jim Klein Cross Country Invitational hosted by South Hamilton at the Jewell Golf and Country Club on October 8.

It then followed that performance with another fourth-place finish at the West Central Activities Conference Meet on October 14 at Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School.

Junior Myles Tromblay led the Bulldogs with a season-best time of 16:40.

Senior Bek Anderson posted a season-best 17:18, while freshman Luke Fisher emerged as a key contributor with a top time of 17:55.

Junior Brody Hitsman recorded a best time of 19:00, followed by eighth-grader Kael Anderson at 20:01.

Senior Thomas Bergstrom added a season-best 20:21, and junior Asher Hoard finished with a top mark of 23:06.

With Tromblay, Fisher, Hitsman, Hoard and Anderson all expected to return, Ogden’s state-qualifying tradition appears poised to continue in 2027.
