
The Ogden girls’ wrestling team advanced two wrestlers — Rylin Casey (100) and Grace Hammer (190) — to the 2026 Iowa Girls State Wrestling Championships at the state‑qualifying regional Friday, January 30, in Colfax.
Casey (39‑11) rolled to the regional championship and secured her spot at state.
Casey received three byes before taking the mat in the semifinal.
She shut out Lola Voth (Chariton) with a 7‑0 decision to advance to the title match.
In the finals, Casey sealed her state berth, pinning Hollie Roberts (Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont) in 2:54.
Hammer (35‑8) powered her way to a runner‑up finish, securing Ogden’s second state qualifier of the meet.
Hammer received two byes before pinning Aurora Badding (Carroll Kuemper Catholic) in 46 seconds and Zariel Samuels (Clarke in 1:05.
She fell in the championship to Kennedy Phillips (Colfax‑Mingo) but clinched her state berth with a no‑contest victory in the second-place match.
Jozlyn Wells at 130 (36‑11) finished 3rd.
Wells opened with two byes, then pinned Addison Doolittle (Mount Ayr) in just 1:05.
After a narrow semifinal loss to Sadie Smith (Carroll Kuemper Catholic), she bounced back with a 16‑15 thriller over Lilli Strandberg (Earlham) and then pinned Brianna Freerksen (Colfax‑Mingo) in 5:06 for third.
Trinity Stoneburner at 110 (36‑15) put a 4th‑place finish.
Stoneburner opened with two byes before pinning Raylee Gilliland (Mount Ayr) in 3:32.
She fell in the semifinals to Myla Nehring (Martensdale-St. Mary’s) but battled back with a consolation pin in 3:03 over Addison Guerra (West Liberty).
Stoneburner reached the third‑place match, ultimately finishing 4th after a fall to Aria Snell (Saydel) in the fifth period.
Ruby Tasler at 235 (25‑19) wrestled to a 4th‑place finish.
Tasler opened with two byes and pinned Kamryn Avalos (West Liberty) in just 22 seconds.
After a semifinal loss, she pinned Rebecca Olsen (Martensdale-St. Mary’s) in 2:35 to reach the third‑place match before falling to Keaton Simmerman (Central Decatur).
Sophie Seligman at 125 (32‑20) collected two wins in the consolation bracket.
After falling in the quarterfinal, she responded with a 29‑second pin over Olivia Leonard (Colfax‑Mingo) and a 16‑0 tech fall over Alleah Cunningham (East Union) before being eliminated.
Alauna Wells at 135 (21‑11) scored a win in the consolation bracket.
After multiple byes, she pinned Ella Snyder (Colfax‑Mingo) in 1:08 before being eliminated in a tight 7‑6 match in the consolation semifinal.
Carlie Hinderaker at 120 (24‑18) had two byes and a quarterfinal loss before she picked up a fall in 5:49 over Allison Corona (Clarke) before being eliminated in the next round.
Kinley Hare at 140 (11‑23) picked up multiple byes but was eliminated after falls in both of her contested matches.
Glenda Moody at 155 (6‑16) worked her way through a series of byes before being eliminated by fall in the consolation bracket.

The 2026 Iowa Girls State Wrestling Tournament will be held Thursday and Friday, February 5 and 6, at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
The Class 1A first round, quarterfinals, wrestleback 1 rounds and wrestleback 2 rounds will be held Thursday.
No. 10 seed Casey will face No. 7 seed Kielly Kasal of West Marshall.
No. 10 seed Hammer will face Ellie Callahan of Mid-Prairie.
In addition, KWBG will air “Meet the State Wrestler” interviews featuring Boone and Ogden wrestlers and coaches at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 4.
