The Ogden girls’ track team set some school records and advanced 7 events to state at the Class 2A state qualifying meet on Thursday, May 15, in Ogden.

Leading the way for Ogden was Taydem Graden, who soared to a first-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 10.5 inches, setting a new school record. Graden also anchored multiple relays.

Samantha Lass claimed first place in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 1 inch.

The Bulldogs’ 4×100-meter relay team of Aubrey Leonard, Sydney King, Breaunna Wenger, and Graden finished second with a time of 50.47 seconds, breaking the school record and punching their ticket to Des Moines.

In the 4×400-meter relay, the team of Wenger, King, Dakota Jones, and Lass also earned a second-place finish in 4:12.04, securing another state qualification.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Leonard, Alena Wilson, Hazel Friedrichsen, and Graden added to the excitement, placing second in 1:07.18.

Ogden also celebrated a school record in the distance medley relay, with Wenger, King, Lass, and Jones clocking in at 4:22.95.

The sprint medley relay team of Graden, Wenger, King, and Lass finished 3rd in 1:53.32.

Events finishing 1st or 2nd at the state qualifying meet automatically advanced to state for Class 3A with the distance medley and sprint medley qualifying at-large.

Ogden finished in 4th place with 72 points, and Van Meter won the meet with 152 points.

Complete results were previously posted to kwbg.com

The Bulldogs now turn their focus to the Iowa High School Track & Field Championships, set for Thursday-Saturday, May 22–24, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

It was previously reported that the 2025 shuttle hurdle relay set a school record, however, that has been corrected. The previous shuttle hurdle record still stands.
