Ogden girls win shuttle hurdle relay

The Ogden girls track and field team won the shuttle hurdle relay at the Nevada invitational, finishing fourth in the team standings with 77 points.

The Ogden girls track and field team won the shuttle hurdle relay at the Nevada invitational, finishing fourth in the team standings with 77 points. 

West Marshall captured the team title with 135 points, followed by Des Moines Christian with 104 points and Boone with 102 points. 

Ogden took the shuttle hurdle relay, where Aubrey Leonard, Madysen Benjamin, Paysen Graden and Alena Wilson combined for a first‑place finish, posting a winning time of 1:11.68.  

Ogden placed second in the 4×400-meter relay with Sophie Seligman, Layla Wells, Ella Anderson and Trinity Stoneburner teaming up for a time of 4:34.76. 

The distance medley relay finished second with Grace Christensen, Sidney Crane, Seligman and Stoneburner in 4:40.74. 

Benjamin tied for second in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 10 inches, while Kenzie Banks had a sixth‑place finish with a jump of 4-06.  

In the long jump, Wilson led the Bulldogs with a runner‑up performance with her jump of 15-02.00, and Graden followed with a fourth‑place finish with her jump 13-11.00. 

Elyse Fisher placed third in the 1500-meter run in 5:43.44. 

The 4×100-meter relay of Leonard, Christensen, Graden and Benjamin finished fourth in 54.41. 

Ogden placed fifth in the 4×200-meter relay in 2:03.08 with Natalie Padgett, Mia Morgan, Emmalyn Strouse and Brylie Hicks. 

Gretta Gannon placed fifth in the shot put with her throw of 29-07.75 and added another fifth‑place finish in the discus with her throw of 87-03. 

Macy Bristle was sixth in the discus with her throw of 87-02, and Janna Jacobsen placed seventh in the shot with a throw of 28-03.00. 

Ella Anderson was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.02, and Banks was seventh in 18.91. 

In the 800-meter run, Addi Hunziker was sixth in 2:52.26 and Alauna Wells was seventh in 2:55.21.

The Bulldogs next compete at the Class 2A qualifying meet at the Roland-Story Sports Complex in Story City. 

Teams at the meet include Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Eagle Grove, Greene County, Grundy Center, Iowa Falls-Alden, Ogden, Roland-Story, South Hamilton, South Hardin, Van Meter, West Marshall and Woodward-Granger.
