Boone Police Chief John Wiebold on Tuned In talks about the snow removal and the fact that about thirty vehicles had to be towed. The Snow Ordinance was in effect in Boone for both residential and business district streets at 10:00 Wednesday evening. He encouraged people to continue getting signed up for the text notification and also spread the word to neighbors. Dr. Julie Trepa, Superintendent, Boone Community School District. Trepa talks about the Boone School Board meeting. First we talked about absenteeism and attendance due to illness. She says absenteeism is up due to illness. She also encourages parents not to send sick children to school. She talked about next year’s school calendar. The Board adopted it Monday. There are no more early outs on Wednesday’s in the 25-26 school year. She also talks about the budget work the Board will be addressing, noting that 2% increases in funding from the state can’t keep up 3% and 4% increases in the cost operating. Aired Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
