
Paige Richards won four conference championships and Lauren Dvorak won two for the Madrid girls’ track team at the West Central Activities Conference Meet held Tuesday, May 5, in Guthrie Center.
Richards won the 100-meter dash (12.47), the 200-meter dash (26.15), and the 400-meter dash (1:01.59) and also added a conference title in the long jump with a leap of 16‑8.5.
Lauren Dvorak won conference titles in both the shot put (40‑4.00) and discus (119‑5).
Mayzie Surratt added a third‑place finish in the shot put (31-07.50) and sixth in the discus (119-05).
Katelyn Brandhorst placed fourth in the 1500-meter run (5:03.00), while Hannah Brandhorst followed closely behind in fifth (5:04.27).
Iyla Fine placed seventh in the 100‑meter hurdles in 19.36, while Adelyn White earned a sixth‑place finish in the 400‑meter hurdles in 1:17.42.
Madrid placed third in the 4×800- meter relay with the team of Hannah Brandhorst, Charis Peasley, Madelyn Grothus and Katelyn Brandhorst finishing in 10:13.24.
The sprint medley relay of Fine, Jaela Hansen, Kimmee Smith and Katelyn Brandhorst placed fifth in 1:57.92.
The Tigers also finished fifth in the distance medley relay with Kiera Alt, Hansen, Smith and Hannah Brandhorst in 4:39.98 and fifth in the shuttle hurdle relay with Fine, Charlotte Schaeller, Ashlyn Burkhart and Adely White in 1:13.03.
Madrid finished third with 104 points, and Van Meter won with 159 points.
