Roland-Story proved too much for the Ogden baseball team on Saturday, July 11, as the Norsemen defeated the Bulldogs 20-4 in four innings in a Class 2A Substate 2 baseball game at Norsemen Field.
Ogden collected three hits in the contest.
Christian Thede doubled and scored a run, while Brody Burdette added a hit.
Thomas Bergstrom drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.
Bek Anderson and CeJay Jones also crossed the plate for Ogden.
On the mound, Jones and Bergstrom each recorded two strikeouts in relief, with Bergstrom taking the loss.
The loss brought an end to Ogden’s season with a 14-18 overall record and a 9-11 mark in the West Central Activities Conference.
Roland-Story improved to 36-3 and advanced to face Pocahontas Area (19-11) at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School at 7 p.m. tonight.
For the season, Colson Carson led the team with 35 hits and 20 RBIs.
Keagan Ristvedt finished with 30 hits, while Brody Burdette added 27 hits and 10 RBIs.
Treyton Mitchell collected 22 hits and led the team with 14 RBIs, while Christian Thede contributed 20 hits during the campaign.
Carson also led the pitching staff, compiling eight victories and recording 83 strikeouts.
