
DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated the information concerning severe weather and hydrology concerns: First there are rounds of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall continuing through the weekend. Persistent heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding and/or river flooding. Severe weather chances return today and again Saturday; damaging winds will be the primary threat.
The Severe Weather Conditions are expected mainly in northern and central Iowa tonight and Saturday, becoming more widespread Saturday night and Sunday. The severe potential is expected Friday afternoon and evening and again Saturday overnight. The heaviest rain will occur mainly during the overnight periods.
