DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the Weekly Fuel Report and the price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 20 cents from last week’s price and is currently averaging $3.68 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $3.13 per barrel, and is currently priced at $78.70.
- Brent crude oil rose by $4.07 and is currently priced at $84.00.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $67.76 and Brent crude was $70.27.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.68 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 20 cents from last week’s price and are up 74 cents from a year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.89, up 9 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 22 cents this week with a statewide average of $4.53.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.55 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 41 cents lower than the national average of $4.94.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.88 for U87-E10, $3.43 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $3.64 for ULSD#2, $3.84 for ULSD#1, and $2.39 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Natural gas prices were down 31 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.91 MMbtu.
- We will continue reporting retail heating oil and propane prices in Iowa in October.
