BOONE, Iowa—Kristy Mae (Boeckman) Blaha, age 66 of Boone, IA passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, surrounded by her family at home.
Kris was born on June 29, 1956, in Sioux City, IA and adopted by loving parents, Cecil and Louise (Eischeid) Boeckman of Early, IA. She graduated from Crestland High School in Early, IA in 1974 and attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.
Kris was united in marriage with David Blaha on April 30, 1976, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City, IA. The couple settled in Boone, IA in 1979, where they raised their children, Jodi, Scott, and Matthew.
Kris worked as a receptionist for various businesses throughout the years. Most recently for Dr. Cook, at Forefront Dermatology in Ames, IA.
Kris was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Boone. She was also a die-hard Hawkeye fan. She enjoyed reading and watching Hallmark movies.
She loved her family above all. Her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved picking them up from school and attending all their activities. Kris was like a second mom and grandma to so many over the years. Kris made everyone feel welcomed and at home.
Kris was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David; daughter, Jodi (Chad) Kuehl of Boone; sons, Scott (Katie) Blaha of Altoona and Matthew Blaha of Boone; grandchildren, Kaylee and Harper Kuehl and Collins and Ashlyn Blaha; sister, Karen (Doug) Blass of Sac City; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will begin at 4:30 P.M. with Visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone, IA. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone.
The family sends a special thank you to Kathi Blaha and Debbie Andrews Christopher for spending time with Kris during her treatments.
